At one time an honored tradition, during the time of the Inquisition in Europe the use of the Tarot almost vanished and this ancient method of divination was given to the care of wandering gypsies who crossed borders at will with scant attention paid to their activities by the Inquisition. In time the use of the Tarot fell to disrepute until recently when interest has once more revived in this ancient art.
